"I'm realizing I'm doing no one any favors by keeping her identity a secret any longer... especially when people in business may be feeling stress, pressure, anduncertainty. I have an excellent resource, and it would be cruel to not fill you in.
For some reason... as someone who shares nearly everything... it was fun (and weird!) to have her all to "myself." Just for a bit. Part of me maybe wanted to see first if I received value from her services before I put her out into my world publicly. Who knows.
Value? Um, yes. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her this past year.
Meet professional business/life coach Elsie Storm of Turning Life Gold , whom I have nicknamed #coachE online.
She was someone I kinda-sorta knew through high school (friends with my sis) and was a facebook friend. She approached me last spring and asked if I'd be interested in a free session, no strings attached. She is passionate about working with women in business... and I was one.
Uh.... a life coach? Isn't that just for people who don't have their sh!t together? You want 90 minutes of my time? Jeez, this better be good, because I don't have a lot of time to give....
Sigh.
With half a grimace on my face, I took part in my first session with her. It flew by. She then offered a second session, and I couldn't wait. I was in tears by the end.
I would tell you more, but I don't want to take the wonder of it... the experience.... from you. It was just what I needed. In short, she made my wildest most impossible dreams appear possible and obtainable. Things became clear, when my visions had been cloudy and all over the place.
Jacob and I agreed that both personally and professionally, I could use Elsie in my life. We meet for three hours a month in 60 or 90 minute sessions over zoom. The bottom lines were... my goals personally, professionally, spiritually....and then making a plan to get to where I wanted to be. This meant navigating through hurdles I didn't even know I had... dealing with issues deep down, healing hurts, facing insecurities, defeating mistruths I held.... and also... facing challenges I didn't even know were coming.
Soon after signing on, I received my diagnosis of breast cancer. Her education and experience were CRUCIAL in how I handled the diagnosis and treatment. God sent her to me, right on time... I'll never ever doubt that. She then saw me though the completion of treatment and the severe anxiety and depression that accompanied the ending, and some major life changes and challenges our family was facing.
She strategizes with me business-wise and reminds me where to focus. She holds me accountable. She calls me out on my BS and loves me fiercely, simultaneously. My time with her is literally so valuable, I don't have time for excuses or mincing words. I HAVE to be vulnerable so that I can fully soak up the content of our meetings.
She keeps me down to earth. When I worry about stupid things or make up excuses, she reminds me of what I need to know.
I swear, anything I say, she has a solution or exercise for. If I have a million things to talk about, she is ready. If I have NOTHING to talk about and/or am in a foul mood, she is ready. I don't know how she does it. She is just brilliant.
